| Sleigh Ride Body Percussion PowerPoint Last week I wrote a post outlining a listening activity for Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride. This week, with those same classes, we are again using Sleigh Ride to experience the form of the piece through using body percussion. I created a PowerPoint slideshow that provides notation for performing the body percussion with each section of the form of the piece - the link at the bottom of the post will take you to Google Docs where you can download the PowerPoint. Now, I have to give credit where credit is due and I thank Linda Abbott, who had posted a similar idea on the Downloads Page of the Bulletin Boards for the Music Classroom. If you have never visited this site, it is a great resource for all things music-classroom-related!
So I used Linda's PowerPoint as my source of inspiration; however, I made some notation changes and performance changes. It uses patschen (patting legs in the Orff world), claps, and snaps. Hopefully the PowerPoint itself is self-explanatory - if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me or post a comment on this post and I will respond quickly!
